The Panasonic NN-SD997S  is another Panasonic microwave that earned positive feedback in user reviews. Unlike the other two models, it has a different control panel that uses raised buttons and a turning dial, with all other features being identical. As many as 30 reviewers at Amazon.com gave it an above-average rating of 4.6 stars out of 5. Owners praised its inverter and sensor technologies, indicating that both would take the guesswork out of microwave cooking. One user noted that the popcorn mode was perfect and he did not see a single burnt piece come out of a bag. Its large capacity can accommodate a 9-by-13-inch baking pan, with its intuitive control panel being another plus. Many reviewers at ABT.com would agree with this statement, giving this microwave a perfect 5-star rating. At the same time, some users reported it stopped working after just a few years of use.

In October 2009, Panasonic has proudly announced that its whole line of microwave ovens received the Good Housekeeping magazine’s Seal of Approval. Consequently, in addition to Panasonic’s standard microwave warranty of one year for parts and labor and five years for the magnetron tube, Good Housekeeping magazine extended a two-year warranty to all Panasonic microwaves (including those mentioned above).
